Race Regulations & Race Map

Two key documents accompany every edition of the event: the Peraturan Perlombaan (race regulations), which sets out the rules participants follow on the trails, and the Race Map, which covers all trail distances and is published for each category.

  • Peraturan Perlombaan — race regulations covering the competition rules for each trail.
  • Race Map — route details for all trail distances, including Blue Fire Trails 105 KM, Kawu Trails 75 KM, Blau Trails 46 KM and Blawan Trails 19 KM.

Regulations and maps are issued by the race committee. For the current edition's documents, contact the race team directly using the details below.

Official trail running information for the Ijen volcano region covers the full range of published race distances, from the longest Blue Fire Trails at 105 KM to the shortest Blawan Trails at 19 KM, with the Kawu Trails at 75 KM and the Blau Trails at 46 KM in between. Every category begins in the Ijen Volcano area, so runners can select a route that matches their preparation level and then review the race map for their chosen trail before the start. The longer routes take in the crater rim and the famous blue fire phenomenon, while the mid-distance and shorter categories move through volcanic terrain and the marked trail network, giving competitors a clear choice based on experience, endurance, and confidence on uneven mountain paths.

Race Regulations at a Glance

  • Read the Peraturan Perlombaan carefully before registering, as it governs conduct on the trail for all four categories.
  • Use the Race Map for your chosen distance to plan aid points and terrain sections.
  • Note that the trails cross volcanic ground near Kawah Ijen, Gunung Merapi and Gunung Raung; prepare for altitude and volcanic terrain.
  • Registration, entry lists and deadlines are handled on the Register page.
